WISH | TRAVEL

From mid-June, I'll luckily be jetting off for 3 months to discover Dubai, Australia, Fiji and Thailand. So inevitably, I've been dreaming of all the bikinis and sun dresses to join me on my journey.
Just like those occasions when you fill up your virtual shopping basket in hopes that everything in there will miraculously arrive on your doorstep without clicking the dreaded 'checkout' button; maybe creating a holiday wishlist will help to satisfy the crazy shopping addict side of me... maybe.

textured swimsuit - motel rocks | sangria dress - for love and lemons | peep toe sandals - public desire | scarf print culottes - vila via asos | bikini top - nasty gal | hand harness - nasty gal

The on-going battle between amazing cut-out swimsuits and not having crazy tan lines continues... It seems as though all of my favourite swimwear pieces out there at the moment come hand-in-hand with random cut-out shapes or the harness/bondage style. This Motel Rocks swimsuit and NastyGal bikini top are no exceptions. Maybe I can live with a stripey tan.
The bohemian/ uber-chilled vibes are my latest and greatest obsession right now and For Love and Lemons are ticking all the boxes. I'm utterly in love with every single piece on their website; the red 'Sangria' dress taking place as my number one. ** insert heart eyes emoji here **

I'll be looking out for that miraculous shopping bag parcel, Mr postman...

LIFE | NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Ok so, I might be almost a month late with this but, until recently, I hadn't really thought about my new years resolutions. Every year I opt for the cliche 'be healthy'/'work hard' goals and end up forgetting about them before we even reach February. This year, I thought the more specific and realistic they are, the more likely I'll actually carry them out.

TRAVEL
Starting with one I know I'll complete... Travel.
Flights and (most) hotels booked; this year, I'll be traveling for 3 months during the summer with a friend.
I've only once visited a country outside of Europe or USA so I'm crazy excited to see more of what the world has to offer. Between June and September, the two of us will be hopping between Dubai, East coast Australia, Fiji and Thailand. So at least that's one ticked off the list.

SPEND LESS TIME ON MY PHONE
I'm sure I'm not the only one that goes straight for my phone when boredom kicks in, scrolling repetitively through streams of (un)social media until my eyes start aching. So, instead, my 2015 resolution is to opt for more beneficial methods of passing my time like reading a book, blogging or working out.

WEAR LESS MAKEUP
As a beauty addict, obsessed with heavy eye makeup, this is a difficult one.
Since I can remember, I've always felt naked when leaving the house without a full face of makeup on so, particularly in preparation for traveling, I want to gradually become more comfortable with the minimal makeup look. Starting with false lashes.

EXPERIMENT WITH FASHION
Say bye-bye to the black jeans and cami top combo. 2015 is the year I want to play around with fashion and try out the pieces I automatically write off as not suiting me, without even giving them a chance... the turtleneck jumper and thigh high boots being some most recent examples.

Approaching one month down, eleven more to go...

INTERIOR | FESTIVE

Big knitted throws, comfy cushions, fairy lights, a good book and all the scented candles. This time of year is my absolute favourite for interior decoration.
Now that halloween is done and dusted and we're in the run up to christmas, the wintery decorations can begin to make an appearance.

WARDROBE ESSENTIALS | THE AUTUMN EDIT

Just as we were all enjoying a surprisingly warm Britain, the chilly weather decides to show up early and ruin all the fun... I guess that means it's time to get our autumn on!
So, to be prepared for whatever the weather throws at us next, here are my Autumn wardrobe essentials.

thin knit jumper - zara | thick knit jumper  - zara | trench coat - asos | black leather biker jacket - mango | faux leather skirt - asos | basic a-line skirt - asos
oversized white shirt or blouse - h&m | plaid shirt - new look men's | black leather boots - topshop
coloured biker jacket - miss selfridge (nude) h&m (burgundy) | basic tees - asos (grey) topman (white) primark men's (black)

The transition from Summer to Autumn... an annoyance or the perfect excuse to go shopping? I think I'll go with the latter.

RED CARPET | MTV VMA'S & EMMY AWARDS 2014

With the MTV VMA's and the Emmy awards being only two days apart, I've combined both into a single post to showcase my absolute favourite red carpet looks of the evenings.

MTV VMA's

From Chloe Moretz' grown-up look in pale pink trousers and long sleeved embroidered top, to Rita Ora looking so Hollywood glamour in a long red satin gown, the MTV red carpet certainly lived up to its reputation of bringing out an eclectic mix of looks from the celebs.

Emmy Awards

Once again, out come the stunning over-the-top couture gowns and perfected hair and make-up that makes us all wish we were up there with the A-listers. This year's Emmy Awards definitely did not disappoint with lashings of glitz and glamour. Red, white and metallics seemed to be the go-to colours for the stars, sported by the likes of January Jones, Sofia Vergara and Taylor Schilling.

Sofia Vergara - Cavalli | Melissa McCarthy - Marchesa | Kiernan Shipka - Antonio Berardi

GUEST POST | FAWN CLOTHING*

Newly launched, Fawnclothing.com is an online UK based fashion boutique. Our motto is: "Fierce high fashion. Fantasy prices." Simple.

After discovering a lack of clothing lines offering luxe (definition: expensive and of high quality) clothing but at affordable price points, we decided to take matters into our own hands. What better idea than to create a line fulfilling exactly those needs, to benefit fashionista's the world over? And so Fawn's conception began in early 2014...

1 Year Later...

So it was 1 year ago today that I wrote and published my first ever blog post. I seriously cannot believe how fast time has passed!
A lot has changed in a year, however 'girl with clothes' has been one of the few things that's stayed consistent... (even if it has had one or two make-overs).
Of course, a 1st Birthday post wouldn't be complete without a big cheesy THANK YOU to my followers. Knowing that this many people are reading my ramblings on here is pretty daunting if I imagine talking to you all in a room. Let's just not even go there...
So, if you've been with me from the start or even just today then thank you so so much and I hope you'll stick with me for the next 365 days to come!
